Calf Muscle Strain

Calf muscle strain is common in sports. Usually the Calf muscle is forcibly stretched beyond its limits and the muscle tissue becomes torn. A tear in the Calf muscle is referred to as a Calf strain. The immediate treatment consists of the RICE protocol - rest, ice, compression and elevation. Rehabilation for several weeks is needed.

Knee Injury

This knee injury is common in sports. The cartilage that acts as cushion between the thigh bone and the shin bone is nipped and torn. In collision sports, direct contact to the knee from opponents can cause an ACL injury. Rehabilation is needed to rest the swollen knee. Otherwise surgery is done using athroscopy to minimise the risk of arthritis of the knee. Physical therapy rehabilitation is very important.
