Indian entrepreneur starts £300 million takeover bid

Indian tycoon Ahasan Ali Syed, head of Western Gulf Advisory, has made a formal approach to buy Blackburn Rovers.

He has promised to clear the club's debt of £20 million, and invest £300 million to improve the club's infrastructure and transfer budget.

Big Sam has led the club away from relegation in his first season. The club acheived the 10th position last season.

With Benni McCarthy sold to West Ham, and Chelsea on-loan forward Franco di Santo being recalled, Big Sam has only strikers Jason Roberts and Nikola Kalinic at his disposal. With limited funds available and the League starting soon, he needs to recruit fast.

Blackburn signed Senegal international striker Mame Biram Diouf from Manchester United on a full season-long loan. Steven Nzonzi, Martin Olsson and Phil Jones have each signed a 5-years contract with Blackburn Rovers until the summer of 2015. Morten Gamst Pedersen has pledged his future till 2014.

Big Sam has ruled out midfielders Vince Grella joining Galatasaray, and Brett Emerton leaving this summer.
